Highway One is the road that you take if you want to see Australia. It's a road Joel Smoker has travelled many times.
The journey began with the trip Joel and his mother took when they drove back to Fitzroy Crossing from the little northwest port of Derby, where he was born. Having spent a good part of his life in outback Australia, Joel was able to draw on his experiences of living and traveling over this vast continent as a source for the twelve original songs on his debut recording.
Internationally acclaimed pedal steel guitarist Lucky Oceans plays on this album as well as producing it.
